A Natural Colon Cleansing Diet and Its Benefits
If you have a colon cleansing, you might believe your colon problems are over for good. Not so. In order to keep you colon clean over time, and maintain the benefits of a colon cleansing, you need to watch your diet.
A natural colon cleansing diet will work to keep your colon strong, healthy, and working at the height of its powers. And with a high-functioning colon you’ll be able to digest your food better, eliminate bloating and fats, and even lose weight.
What kinds of foods should be included in a natural colon cleansing diet? Fruits and vegetables—in particular the fiber contained in many fruits and vegetables—are great boosts to your colon’s health.
Fiber can help loosen wastes within the colon and also help flush out the toxic materials that can accumulate there.
Also, when it comes to eating fruits and vegetables, raw is better than cooked. Try to see to it that at least half of the vegetables you eat are raw.
This can be difficult, especially to people who are accustomed to eating their vegetables warm, soft and buttery, but in time you’ll no doubt acquire a strong taste for raw veggies.
Meat can also help your colon, although lean meats like poultry and fish are more helpful to a natural colon cleansing diet than red meats. And try to buy organic meat when you can.
Fruit and vegetable juices are also great for your natural colon cleansing diet, carrot juice in particular. And don’t skimp on the water. Drink a glass of water even when you’re not especially thirsty.
Water helps reduce the toxic levels of your body and helps dilute waste materials, making them easier for your colon to process. So keep drinking water, even if you have to force yourself to at first; in no time you’ll be in the habit of drinking eight, nine, or even ten glasses a day.
As a final note, be sure to complement your natural colon cleansing diet with plenty of exercise, including a half hour of cardio at least a few times a week.
