A Natural Colon Cleansing Diet and Its Benefits

If you have a colon cleansing, you might believe your colon problems are over for good.  Not so.  In order to keep you colon clean over time, and maintain the benefits of a colon cleansing, you need to watch your diet.

A natural colon cleansing diet will work to keep your colon strong, healthy, and working at the height of its powers.  And with a high-functioning colon you’ll be able to digest your food better, eliminate bloating and fats, and even lose weight.

What kinds of foods should be included in a natural colon cleansing diet?  Fruits and vegetables—in particular the fiber contained in many fruits and vegetables—are great boosts to your colon’s health.

Fiber can help loosen wastes within the colon and also help flush out the toxic materials that can accumulate there.

Also, when it comes to eating fruits and vegetables, raw is better than cooked.  Try to see to it that at least half of the vegetables you eat are raw.

This can be difficult, especially to people who are accustomed to eating their vegetables warm, soft and buttery, but in time you’ll no doubt acquire a strong taste for raw veggies.

Meat can also help your colon, although lean meats like poultry and fish are more helpful to a natural colon cleansing diet than red meats.  And try to buy organic meat when you can.

Fruit and vegetable juices are also great for your natural colon cleansing diet, carrot juice in particular.  And don’t skimp on the water.  Drink a glass of water even when you’re not especially thirsty.

Water helps reduce the toxic levels of your body and helps dilute waste materials, making them easier for your colon to process.  So keep drinking water, even if you have to force yourself to at first; in no time you’ll be in the habit of drinking eight, nine, or even ten glasses a day.

As a final note, be sure to complement your natural colon cleansing diet with plenty of exercise, including a half hour of cardio at least a few times a week.

Is Home Remedy Colon Cleansing Right for You?

It may be that you want to have your colon cleansed, but you don’t want to go to a practitioner’s office.  You might feel you’d be too shy to go through with that procedure.

In that case, you might opt for a home remedy colon cleansing.  Such a procedure would give you a nice, clean, healthy colon and would afford you the privacy and comfort of going through with it in your own home.

Nowadays, home remedy colon cleansing materials are everywhere, and they are both affordable and effective.

Take the home enema kit.  You can simply head to your neighborhood drug store to buy one.

When you arrive back home, read the instructions carefully, insert the tubing, pump the liquid into your body, and then go through the drainage process.

While this might sound awkward, even painful, it really is quite a comfortable process.  And the liquid is really effective at attacking all the waste and build-up stuck to the walls of your colon, and all of that will be drained away forever.

Not an enema type of person?  That’s OK.  There are many other kinds of home remedy colon cleansing available to you.  You could buy an herbal spray, which you simply spray under your tongue.  The ingredients in this spray will act upon the waste in your colon much the same way the enema liquid would, although it will take a matter of days rather than minutes, and you’ll need to use the spray several times.

There are also herbal pills and powders you can take, which contain ingredients similar to the spray.  Perhaps the most enjoyable form of home remedy colon cleansing (some people might enjoy the enema more, though) are the herbal beverages available: teas and smoothies that actually taste surprisingly good.

Before you decide on the type of home remedy colon cleansing you’ll use, however, be sure to consult your physician, and perhaps an allergist if you’re allergic to some herbs.  And thoroughly research the pros and cons of each type of remedy before you make your final decision.

Colon Cleansing Foods: Delicious and Helpful

Colon cleansing foods are terrific in many ways.  The first benefit, obviously, is that they clean your colon.

But they also can improve your overall health and fitness level, and many of them (no matter what you might suspect) are delicious to boot.

When you think of colon cleansing foods, you should think first of plants.  When you go to the supermarket, fill your cart with vegetables and fruits, and also grains and seeds and nuts and beans.

Be adventuresome; try different and exotic fruits and veggies—you never know what taste sensations you could stumble upon! And don’t neglect the classics: apples, citrus fruits and the much-misunderstood broccoli are great colon cleansing foods.

Next, be sure to load up on the fiber as well.  Eat fiber and then more fiber, and when you’re done with that, have some more fiber.  Eat both soluble and insoluble fibers.

Insoluble fibers help to prevent constipation, and all fibers are great at strengthening the colon and helping it perform its necessary duties—and when your digestive system is aided in this way your health and well-being as a whole will improve.

Foods that are full of fiber include cabbage, brown rice, carrots, apples and barley.  Plus, many breakfast cereals are high in fiber as well.

The phrase “colon cleansing foods” also includes beverages.  Fruit juices are very helpful, but perhaps nothing beats good, old-fashioned water.  Water brings down the body’s level of toxicity, and it also helps to dissolve larger solid particles, which makes the colon’s job of breaking down materials into waste products easier to accomplish.

Try to drink at least eight glasses a day, ten if you can.  The tissues of your colon will be cleaner, and you will have to deal with much less constipation as well.

Finally, if you’re going to concentrate on buying colon cleansing foods you’ll have to be aware of what you shouldn’t be buying.  Try to cut down on fatty and sugary foods, and go easy on the red meat (and try not to eat meat at the same time you’re eating carbohydrates).

Colon Cleansing and Weight Loss: A Winning Combination

Colon cleansing and weight loss usually go hand in hand. If your colon is completely healthy and fully cleaned out, your body will be supplied with more energy, it will burn more fat, and overall you will feel healthier, and thus more inspired to continue toward your weight loss goals. Some experts feel that just before you begin your weight loss program you should have your colon cleaned.

Colon cleansing and weight loss go together well because when you have waste materials sticking to the sides of your colon you will generally experience fatigue and listlessness, whereas ideally you should be feeling enthusiastic and full of life.

After all, weight loss plans often require tons of energy in order to be successful. You will need energy to exercise, of course, and not only will a clean colon provide you with this energy, it will also increase your levels of stamina and endurance, making it possible for you to exercise much more than you’d be able to otherwise.

And you’ll even need some energy to prepare healthy meals.  (You’ll probably be trying out many new recipes, and this will take patience, concentration, and mental acuity.)

Colon cleansing and weight loss are also good partners in that a clean colon will allow you to digest your foods faster.  Bloating will be reduced.

If you don’t have a colon in good working order, you won’t see the same kinds of results from your weight loss program, and thus you’re much more apt to become discouraged and to give up.

Both colon cleansing and weight loss, of course, are long-term processes.  Sure, you might receive an enema and be done with the cleansing in an hour, or you might take a spray and be done with the cleansing in a few days.

But in order to keep that colon clean, you’ll need a low fat, vitamin-rich diet, one high in fiber, and this is also the kind of diet you need to maintain in order to lose weight.  Let’s hear it for colon cleansing and weight loss!

Natural Colon Cleansing: A Wondrous Process

Natural colon cleansing has been around for a long time: in ancient Greece, in fact, many learned individuals speculated about the necessity of cleaning out the bowels.  Here in America this kind of cleansing is now as popular as it has ever been.

There is some debate as to whether or not natural colon cleansing is necessary, although partly this debate is a function of the fact that little medical research has been done on the topic.

Nevertheless, anecdotal evidence is strong about the way natural colon cleansing can reduce all kinds of digestive problems: bloating, cramps, constipation, even such ailments as headaches and bloating.

Those who have gone through such a cleansing also report, almost uniformly, an overall sense of refreshment.

Natural colon cleansing can be divided into two main kinds of procedures.  The first is called colon irrigation. This is where you go to a practitioner and he or she “irrigates” your large intestine by way of a cleansing liquid pumped through a hose that’s been inserted into your…ahem.  A second tube will take care of the fluids when they exit the body, along with the waste materials.

It’s interesting to note that up to twenty gallons of water can be pumped into your body during a colonic procedure, yet the experience is almost always completely comfortable.  Certainly this machinery has had a long time to be perfected; the first colonic machine appeared way back in the early twentieth century.  And if you’re wondering, this whole process may take up to an hour, and in many instances it includes a stomach massage, which makes it a pretty good deal.

The second kind of natural colon cleansing is when you take an herbal supplement orally, whether in the form of a pill or spray or beverages likes teas and smoothies.  The herbal ingredients travel down to your colon, clean out the toxic materials and repopulate the place with new, helpful bacteria.  And so your digestive processes will work much better—it’s kind of like getting the oil changed in your car.
